Jeepers Creepers 3 now has the money and plot to move forward
This year’s Toronto International Film Festival has just begun, and one horror movie franchise has already been revived (that’s what TIFF’s all about, right?). Variety reports that Myriad Pictures announced it will finance the long-awaited (by some people, surely) Jeepers Creepers 3. And it looks like the whole gang is back—Victor Salva, the writer-director of the first two films, will pen and helm the picture starring the Creeper himself, Jonathan Breck. Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope will produce once more, and Brandon Smith, who played a skeptical sheriff in the first film, will return as well.
The first two Jeepers Creepers films were set in the same 23-day period, in which the Creeper, who resembles a reptilian cowboy, stalks and kills his prey. He does this every 23 years, which is about twice as long as it’s taken for the third movie to get underway. CinemaBlend has some details on the plot, which will see Smith’s sheriff character form a posse to rid the world of this Creeper once and for all—but not before we learn its history.
