Jennifer Connelly joins Daveed Diggs in TNT’s Snowpiercer pilot

According to Deadline, Jennifer Connelly has signed on to star alongside the previously cast Daveed Diggs in TNT’s TV adaptation of Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer. The project is still just a pilot at this point, but like the movie, TNT’s Snowpiercer will center around a high-tech train that perpetually carries its passengers—all of whom are forced into strict, class-based divisions—through the frozen wasteland of the Earth. Diggs is playing a lower-class guy in the back of the train, and Connelly will be playing an upper-class woman who works as “the Voice Of The Train.” That means it’s her job to make daily announcements on the train’s PA system, and though most of the upper-class people in the movie were huge assholes, Deadline says that Connelly’s character will be “curiously fascinated” by the people who are poorer than she is.

The Snowpiercer pilot will be directed by Doctor Strange’s Scott Derrickson.
