Jeremy Piven’s Mr. Selfridge gets a fourth season

Mr. Selfridge—that British show your parents like, but not quite as much as Downton Abbey—is coming back for a fourth season, according to Deadline. Apparently not convinced that the upcoming Entourage movie will actually relaunch his American career, star Jeremy Piven will once again slip into the waistcoat of retail magnate Harry Gordon Selfridge, who brings his flamboyant American style to a London department store.

The show’s series regulars are all sticking around, with Sacha Dhawan (24: Live Another Day) set to join the cast as a “major new character.” Frequent scriptwriter Helen Raynor will handle head writer duties while Lindy Woodhead, who wrote the book that inspired the series, will stick around in her advisory role.

Season three of Mr. Selfridge is currently airing on ITV in the U.K. and will hit PBS at the end of this month. There’s no official word on when season four will be set as, like Downton Abbey, the series jumps around in time. (The first season started in 1908, while the latest is set immediately following the First World War.) But there’s a good chance the show won’t miss out on the chance to portray the sexy 1920s.

“They want the skirts how short?!” Selfridge can exclaim as Piven holds up a slinky flapper dress with a mixture of incredulity and appreciation. “Make ’em twice as short and order 1,000 for the store,” he’ll order as an elderly British woman looks on in shock. “Would have been better if that were Maggie Smith,” your mom will add.
