Fresh off his Oscar-nominated role as the armored superhero Bomb Fodder in Kathryn Bigelow's shit-kicking blockbuster The Hurt Locker—a film you have recently been strongly encouraged to buy—actor Jeremy Renner might wind up working in another (albeit less clunky-looking) costume. Heat Vision reports that Renner is in final talks to play the archer-hero Hawkeye in Joss Whedon's upcoming Marvel film The Avengers. If he signs on, he'll be part of a cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as The Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Don Cheadle as War Machine. Marvel hasn't confirmed that Renner is even in negotiations or anything, let alone close to signing on, but what the hell, it's Friday.
