Jerry Seinfeld gets roasted, Cardi B gets praised on Between Two Ferns

It’s been a while since Zach Galifianakis has graced us with a new episode of his mock interview show, Between Two Ferns. But now, after winning an actual humanitarian award for the Funny Or Die series’ Barack Obama interview, Galifianakis is back to make fun of Jerry Seinfeld with a little help from Cardi B and Wayne Knight.

The highlight of this episode, as in past interviews, is Galifianakis mercilessly mocking his guest. Seinfeld is introduced as “Jerry Sandus… Seinfeld,” discussed (in audible whispers) as being as relevant as Lorena Bobbitt, and told his sitcom has “been a real launching pad for whites.” Galifianakis also compares Seinfeld’s Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee series with Late Late Show host James Corden’s recurring “Carpool Karaoke” segment and asks the comedian, “What’s next in lazy car-based non-comedy?”

As tensions escalate, Seinfeld gives a bit back to his host (“Do you get professional haircuts?”), and Galifianakis brings out Wayne Knight hoping for—and failing to receive—a reprisal of Knight’s Seinfeld character, Newman. Following that, Cardi B shows up—forcing Seinfeld to give up his seat—accepts showers of praise for being “relevant,” and gives Seinfeld the cold shoulder as she leaves. Stick around until the end to see a special, Seinfeld-themed outro and to remember in general how goddamned funny Between Two Ferns can be.
