Jessica Chastain has a bad cup of tea in the first trailer for It: Chapter 2
Andy Muschietti’s first It movie only told half of the story, specifically the part about the kids of the Losers’ Club facing off against Pennywise for the first time in Derry’s sewers, but anyone who has made it through the entirety of King’s original book know that Pennywise isn’t totally gone just yet. The Derry kids now have to come back as adults, which will be the focal point of Muschietti’s It: Chapter 2, and this trailer for the sequel mostly revolves around Jessica Chastain’s adult Beverly returning home to Derry and having an extremely creepy cup of tea with an old woman.
It’s a little surprising to see all of those kids from the first movie suddenly replaced by recognizable adults (with James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, and Isaiah Mustafa joining Chastain), but it’s clear that ol’ Pennywise is still ready for some classic clown shenanigans at least.
It: Chapter 2 will be in theaters on September 6.
