Jessica Jones renewed for another season of whiskey-fueled superhero fun
The Marvel Cinematic Universe shows no signs of slowing down ever, and considering that Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is still going relatively strong on ABC, it seems like the MCU’s TV and Netflix branches are going to keep benefitting from that success as well. Daredevil’s second season premieres in a couple months and a Punisher-focused spinoff is in the works, and now The Hollywood Reporter says that Netflix has officially picked up Jessica Jones for a second season as well. The first season picked up a lot of critical acclaim and fan enthusiasm, so this hardly comes as a surprise, but apparently the cast and crew of the show didn’t find out about the renewal until shortly before the show’s Television Critics Association panel today. Therefore, there aren’t a whole lot of details to share about the second season, but showrunner Melissa Rosenberg has confirmed that David Tennant’s Kilgrave won’t be returning. Apparently the character is suffering from some chronic neck pain that he just can’t get over.
If the turnaround time for Jessica Jones is the same as Daredevil, season two could premiere later this year or in early 2017.
