Just days after announcing a guest appearance by an actual Secretary Of State, Madam Secretary has added a former (fictitious) assistant district attorney to its ranks—Law & Order’s Jill Hennessy will join the cast this fall. Hennessy will play Jane Fellows, a “commanding yet discreet political operator known for keeping cool in a crisis,” making her an ideal candidate for Henry McCord’s (Tim Daly) Defense Intelligence Agency team. Hennessy returned to primetime television last year with a stint as a high-powered attorney on The Good Wife. She also recently starred opposite Ron Eldard in 2012’s Roadie, and also wrote the mockumentary The Acting Class featuring Will Arnett and fellow Law & Order alums Angie Harmon and the late Jerry Orbach.
