Jim Carrey drops out of proposed Dumb And Dumber sequel, disappointing no one
It was almost a year and a half ago that the Farrelly brothers first broached the idea of a new Dumb And Dumber sequel, picking up with Harry and Lloyd 20 years after the first film (and not 2003 prequel Dumb And Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd). Not long thereafter, Jim Carrey himself was all about said sequel, a chance to build off the blinding success of Mr. Popper’s Penguins. Last fall, the film took one more step towards becoming reality, allegedly got a title—Dumb And Dumber To—and was even listed on Carrey’s IMDB page. But it looks like all that planning is now moot, as Jim Carrey has exited the project before it even got underway. According to E! Online, Carrey was bummed about the lack of enthusiasm execs at New Line and Warner Bros. showed for the film. At least now Carrey has more time to pursue his one-sided romance with America’s Crush™ Emma Stone
