Singer Jimmy Buffett has been hospitalized after falling off the stage near the end of a concert in Australia. Buffett had just finished a performance of “Lovely Cruise” at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and appeared to be taking a stroll toward the edge of the stage to thank the crowd when he misjudged where it ended and fell to the concrete below, leaving him with a large gash on his head and unconscious for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The below fan-shot video shows the incident (Buffett’s accident happens around the 3:45 mark), and TMZ has a closer angle here; fortunately, Buffett’s website says he is doing well and is due to be released tomorrow. As we've been saying for years, this is why every stage should be enclosed with chicken wire. It just makes sense.
