Jimmy Kimmel might host the Emmys again

ABC has thrown up the Jimmy Kimmel signal, summoning one of the Disney-owned network’s few non-cartoon or spandex-clad superstars for a potential repeat of his past Emmy-hosting gig. As reported by Variety, the Live! host is currently in talks to host the award show for a second time, in a ceremony that’ll creep onto the calendar some time this September.

Kimmel last hosted the show in 2012, which was, not coincidentally, also the last time ABC got to take charge of the rotating Emmy telecast. His past tenure at the podium was pretty well received—including a bit where he got to preside over his own loss to The Daily Show With Jon Stewart—which is good, because it’s not like the network was going to stuff Nightline’s Dan Harris into a tuxedo and ask him to make a couple of fun Empire jokes, or deliver some banter about Better Call Saul.
