Jimmy Kimmel to spread the word about a little indie film called Star Wars
Bowing to the power of the most potent force in the galaxy (i.e. brand synergy across properties owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company), Jimmy Kimmel Live! is devoting an episode next month to the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Presumably, they’re going after that meaty “watches Jimmy Kimmel but hasn’t heard there’s a new Star Wars movie” demographic.
The episode will air November 23, with J.J. Abrams, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, and John Boyega all scheduled to deploy their contractually mandated charms to remind viewers that this whole Star Wars thing is still a going concern. There’s no word on whether there’ll be any other special guests dropping by—Carrie Fisher with more fashion tips, maybe, dragging along Harrison Ford to get applauded at—but if the show’s recent Halloween episode is anything to go by, at least Jimmy Kimmel will get a kick out of it. (Not to indulge in that old “late-night hosts love Star Wars” stereotype, but if the hair buns fit…)
