Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Thursday, April 18. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

RuPaul’s Drag Race (VH1, 9 p.m.): “Snatch Game” breathes some rarified TV air. It’s up in the ether with Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s annual Halloween Heist, the Bars Wars with Gary’s Olde Town Tavern on Cheers, and other such recurring events, and like its fellows, pretty much guarantees a night of good television. But unlike those other capital-E Events, “Snatch Game” isn’t a carefully scripted affair. Instead, it’s something of a free-for-all, often separating the Drag Race wheat from the chaff. If you bomb, that will linger, and there’s good chance you’re going home. But if you knock it out of the park, you just might become a legend.

Case in point: This bad bitch, right here.

Jinkx Monsoon’s turn as Little Edie in the fifth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race catapulted her from endearing misfit to frontrunner. This year, she’s returning to offer some much-needed advice to the current crop of queens, many of whom seem likely to struggle. Our guess: Nina West thrives, Yvie Oddly either nails it or fails big, Vanjie will find a weird sort of funny all her own and squeak by (see also: Yara Sofia as Amy Winehouse, season three), and everyone will will flail, either doing too much or too little.

The safest of all bets: First, that Jinkx and Ru will offer good advice that some ill-fated queen ignores; Second, that Kate Kulzick will write a hell of a recap.

Regular coverage

The Twilight Zone (CBS All Access, 3:01 a.m.)
Star Trek: Discovery (CBS All Access, 8:30 p.m.): second-season finale
Brooklyn Nine-Nine (NBC, 9 p.m.)
The Orville (Fox, 9 p.m.)
Better Things (FX, 10 p.m.)

Wild card

Desus & Mero (Showtime, 11 p.m.): Sometimes a title is all you need. Tonight’s D&M is titled, “Grits Ratio.” 4:1? 5:1? We can’t wait.
