Joanna Newsom announces tour dates and theatrical run of “Divers” video

After lending her visage and skills to films and other people’s music, Joanna Newsom recently found the time to work on her first full-length album in five years. Divers will be released October 23, and we’ve already been treated to the album’s lead single “Sapokankian.” Newsom teamed up with her Inherent Vice director Paul Thomas Anderson on the video for the song, which sees her shivering and strolling through the snow-covered streets of Manhattan.

Newsom has just announced a tour in support of Divers, which will start off with some European dates before reaching North America. The singer will be supported by Alela Diane & Ryan Francesconi at all North American shows. West Coast dates haven’t been announced yet, but fans on Pacific Time can tide themselves over with the theatrical-only release of the “Divers” video, which was also directed by Anderson. The screenings for “Divers” are scheduled for October 16-22, and you can find a list of theaters here, as well as on the Cinefamily website.
