According to Extra by way of The Huffington Post, Joaquin Phoenix has announced his retirement from acting at the tender age of 34. Asked if Phoenix was joking, friend Casey Affleck said, "I don't think he's kidding. He's got music and stuff."
Phoenix is slated to appear in next year's Two Lovers. Then he will presumably follow in the path of the many actors who transitioned from movies to a successful music career and never acted again.
