Joe Wright to direct Bryce Dallas Howard and Alice Eve in Black Mirror episode
Pan may have fallen flat, but Joe Wright will have a chance to redeem himself on the small screen, as Deadline reports the director will helm an upcoming episode of Black Mirror. There’s no word on what kind of tech-nightmare story Wright will oversee or when it will be released, but it will star Bryce Dallas Howard and Alice Eve. Wright’s best-received films have been period dramas like Pride And Prejudice and Atonement, so it will be interesting to see how he handles more modern fare beyond including some Chemical Brothers music.
Netflix ordered 12 new episodes of Channel 4’s anthology series last year, which series creator Charlie Brooker will write and produce. Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mackenzie Davis are also set to star in an upcoming episode directed by Kill Your Friends’ Owen Harris, who previously directed the Black Mirror season two episode, “Be Right Back.” The streaming giant released this teaser featuring a throbbing incision, so it looks like things are right on track.
