John C. Reilly joins Dogtooth director’s weird-sounding new movie
John C. Reilly’s career continues to take strange turns with news of his role in Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Lobster, whose existence we alerted you to late last year. (Short version: Lanthimos is a Greek director who made the incredible and incredibly upsetting Dogtooth back in 2009, and he’s currently shooting his first English-language feature, The Lobster, which will star Jason Clarke and Ben Whishaw.) THR is reporting that Reilly has joined the “dystopian love story,” in which people are forced to either find a life mate or be turned into an animal. It sort of makes sense for Reilly, who in the past year or so has witnessed the horrifying death of his co-anchor (on Check It Out! With Dr. Steve Brule), wrapped up production on Guardians Of The Galaxy, goofed around in Anchorman 2, and provided a voice for Wreck-It Ralph.
