John Cusack war flick first big purchase at Sundance

Grace Is Gone, starring John Cusack as the husband of a solider killed in Iraq, was purchased by the Weinstein brothers for $4 million after screening at Sundance, reports The L.A. Times. It is the first big purchase of the festival, though it pales next to the record $10.5 million paid last year for Little Miss Sunshine. The grim storyline follows Cusack as he takes his daughters on a road trip shortly after learning of his wife's death. The trip culminates with a trip to the White House, where Cusack holds up a boom box and plays "In Your Eyes" until President Bush stops the war. (That last part probably isn't true.)
