John Mayer and The Grateful Dead are going on tour as Dead & Company
Considering that the Grateful Dead played its final shows ever earlier this summer, this past month has had a surprising amount of news about the band playing more concerts. First, we reported that some members of the Dead would be teaming up with John Mayer for a spooky Halloween show at Madison Square Garden in New York, and now Consequence Of Sound says that Mayer and the Dead will be going on a proper tour under the name Dead & Company. They’ll also be joined by Oteil Burbridge from The Allman Brothers and Jeff Chimenti from Ratdog, in case John Mayer is somehow not enough for you. The supergroup (of sorts) also posted an Instagram photo featuring the tour dates and an invitation for fans to “see the dynamic interplay between band members, hear them as they dazzle on their instruments,” and “feel the sensation of unity and celebration.” So that’s all pretty groovy.
