John Oliver weighs presidential candidates’ scandals to determine who’s quantifiably worse
On Sunday’s Last Week Tonight, John Oliver dove into the scandals of both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump to prove how the latter’s should be a hell of a lot more troubling to voters.
Oliver didn’t disregard the questions surrounding the Democratic candidate’s emails or the Clinton Foundation. In fact, he dug into them to illustrate why “what is there is irritating rather than grossly nefarious.” And then, of course, there’s Trump. “If you are struggling with the idea of voting for Hillary because of all this, you need to take a long hard look at Donald Trump,” Oliver said. “If you are irritated by her lying that is understandable, but he is quantifiably worse.” Oliver hit on Trump’s inability to comprehend the concept of a blind trust and his misuse of funds from his foundation. Then the host wrapped up his argument with a metaphor that yielded a rainstorm of raisins standing in for all of Trump’s bullshit.
