Johnny Depp pops up on Ryan Adams’ new self-titled LP a couple of times, so the fact that he popped in on Adams’ recent London show to jam out isn’t all that surprising. What was unexpected is what they chose to play: Danzig’s “Mother.” Sure, the duo also played “Kim,” one of the Depp-enhanced tracks from Ryan Adams, but it’s “Mother” that’s rightfully getting all the attention today, thanks to a video that shows off all the hair-tossing and strumming-while-bouncing that went into it. Like their cover version, the video isn’t the best rendition, but it gets the job done.
