Johnny Knoxville making a Ferris Bueller for adults, basically
Edging as close as one can get to doing a remake without actually doing a remake, Johnny Knoxville is, according to Deadline, the first actor on board for Sick Day, a movie that has the very familiar-sounding plot of three friends who “uphold a tradition of calling in sick one day a year to fulfill fantasies while not getting caught.” So, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, then—only in this one, the friends are all in their 30s, and this version will probably feature more dick jokes and maybe some stunts. Director Jeremy Garelick also wrote the script, having previously worked on The Hangover and The Break-Up. So, this whole project is pretty easy to envision already.
