Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert renew their contracts through the 2012 presidential election
We may not have a voice of calming certainty in these calamitous times, but at least we still have our smartasses: Comedy Central has just signed individual contract extensions with both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, ensuring that they will each remain in their anchor chairs for The Colbert Report and The Daily Show until 2012 and 2013, respectively. This also means that both will be around to comment on the 2012 presidential election, which will most likely be a cordial, respectful exchange of ideas between qualified candidates that won’t be ripe for satire at all.
