Joseph Fiennes and Eva Green join cast of Starz's Camelot

With its Spartacus: Blood And Sandals And Boobs Or Whatever currently tearing Roman history a new asshole, Starz is gearing up to do the same to Arthurian legend, casting Joseph Fiennes and Eva Green in its new medieval series Camelot. Fiennes, recently loosed from staring at a bulletin board and wincing at bottles of bourbon over on the canceled Flash Forward, will take on the role of Merlin, returning him to the period-piece milieu that first endeared him to audiences in Shakespeare In Love—but with an extra dose of brooding wizard badass, presumably. Green, best known for being hot in Casino Royale, will match Fiennes shazam for shazam as “the powerful sorceress Morgana,” the villainous seductress who uses her mad seducin’ skills to bring about Arthur’s downfall. Arthur will be played by Jamie Campbell Bower, best known for Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd and Twilight: New Moon, while the role of Lady Guinevere goes to up-and-coming English actress Tamsin Egerton. Camelot is due to première in early 2011. And no matter how kick-ass it may turn out to be, its title will always make us think of this:
