Josh Duhamel to be partnered with Dean Winters in Vince Gilligan's new show
Vince Gilligan’s Battle Creek has solidified its two leads, casting Fergie husband Josh Duhamel to enter into another unlikely partnership fraught with peril by pairing him with Dean Winters in the CBS drama. Duhamel will bring his more-approachable-version-of-Timothy-Olyphant skills to the role of Milton Chamberlain, a “clean-cut and humble” Special Agent who relocates to the town of Battle Creek, Michigan to establish a new office there. Naturally, he’s teamed up with the character Russ Agnew—who has the completely opposite personality, as is standard procedure on all police work—as played by Winters, who will transfer from being a dick, both professionally and personally, at Brooklyn Nine-Nine over to Battle Creek.
Aided by Kal Penn’s Detective Funkhauser and Damon Herriman’s Detective Niblet, the far less silly-sounding team of Chamberlain and Agnew (and the show) will strive to answer the question, “Is cynicism, guile and deception enough to clean up the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek, Michigan in the face of a complete lack of resources; or is the exact opposite true—it takes naïveté, trust and a boatload of resources?” Given that it’s Vince Gilligan, our guess is it’s somewhere in the ambiguously moral middle, and that it also wouldn’t hurt to have some guns.
