Josh Lucas chosen as the TV version of Tom Cruise in NBC's The Firm

NBC’s planned TV adaptation of/sequel to John Grisham’s The Firm now has a leading man: Josh Lucas is finalizing a deal to join the mid-season drama in the role of Mitch McDeere, the idealistic young lawyer who [SPOILERS FOR A 20-YEAR-OLD BOOK] refused to play ball with the Chicago mob lo those many years ago, spent the intervening decade in the Federal Witness Protection program, and is now reemerging to put his practice back together, because the mob probably forgot all about that stuff by now. Lucas was last seen in The Lincoln Lawyer and has an upcoming role in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar Hoover movie as Charles Lindbergh, but more importantly is the random Wikipedia fact that Lucas is a co-owner of Filthy Food, a manufacturer of premium, sexually suggestive drink garnishes.
