Joss Whedon already has his next movie lined up

While the fanboy community eagerly awaits to see how Joss Whedon brought William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing to life and whether it will lead him down the path of that much-rumored Dogberry: Origins spinoff, Whedon has already begun prepping his next project—a “supernatural romance” he wrote titled In Your Eyes. It’s the second film that’s been announced for the Bellwether Pictures studio that Whedon recently formed with wife Kai Cole, with Whedon noting that forming his own production company has given him the means and the “moxie” to develop his original screenplay, which Whedon has been holding onto for some time, waiting for someone to take a chance on him and finally give him his big break.

Not much is known about the story, although Whedon describes it as “a pretty timeless romance” for which he believes director Brin Hill (Ball Don’t Lie) has developed an “elegant, passionate take”—all of which makes it sound like there may be bodices and crying, but that’s just a guess. Deadline doesn’t have many more details, saying only that In Your Eyes is “a metaphysical love story about two seemingly polar opposites who are deeply connected in ways neither could have ever imagined,” and together they find a resolution to all their fruitless searches, the light, the heat, and then Youssou N’Dour shows up and sings some stuff.
