Judy Blume is finally writing another book
Publisher Alfred A. Knopf announced yesterday that Judy Blume is working on her first adult book since Summer Sisters’ release in 1998. Slated to arrive next summer, there’s almost no other information available, though Blume’s editor told The New York Times that it will be “quintessential Judy”—so presumably we will love it. Blume said she’ll spend most of this summer working on revisions: “I’m both thrilled and terrified, my usual feelings at this point. I’ll be hiding out this summer revising, my favorite part of the process.”
Best known for YA and kids’ books like Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret; Superfudge; and Tales Of A Fourth-Grade Nothing, Blume has been the cool aunt to America’s children since at least 1970, when she taught a generation of girls the line, “We must, we must, we must increase our bust.”
