Judy Greer to quietly be the best part of Richard Linklater’s Where’d You Go, Bernadette
Richard Linklater has added a cinematic secret weapon to his latest comedy, Where’d You Go, Bernadette, with Deadline reporting that actress Judy Greer has joined the cast. Greer is something of a favorite around here, injecting shows like Arrested Development and Archer with a comic chaos that rarely gets to shine in the “main character’s best friend” roles she so often gets saddled with in mainstream fare.
That doesn’t seem to a problem with Bernadette, which tells the story of a woman (Cate Blanchett) who goes missing, leaving her husband and daughter to go seeking after her. Greer will play Dr. Kurtz, the “brutally honest” operator of a rehab center that prides itself on telling its occupants the hard truths. We can just imagine what kind of icy crazy Greer will bring to the part when she joins the film’s cast, which also includes Billy Crudup and Kristen Wiig.
