Julia Stiles will be back for the next Bourne movie

Another old Bourne Identity star has signed on to the new attempt to rebootdeboot?unboot?the franchise, with Julia Stiles joining Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass’ as-yet-unnamed new film. Stiles played CIA technician Nicky Parsons in all three of the original Bourne movies, providing valuable saying-exposition-and-looking-scared duties that were sorely missed when she didn’t return for the Jeremy Renner-starring Bourne Legacy.

Stiles’ recent career has been a mixture of TV and film work, mixing up roles in genre fare like Out Of The Dark and Closed Circuit with more long-form work like the web series Blue. She also had a season-long run of Dexter, where she stretched that series’ already tenuous grip on reality to its breaking point by attempting to convince viewers that “Lumen” was an acceptable name for a person to have.

The new, re-Damonified Bourne movie was announced in 2014, shunting Justin Lin’s attempts to continue the franchise with Renner to the side. Viggo Mortensen and Ex Machina star Alicia Vikander are also rumored to be joining the new film, which is set for release on July 29, 2016.
