Julian “Doctor Doom” McMahon joins Marvel’s Runaways
It’s been 12 years since the first of Tim Story’s Fantastic Four movies debuted, and only two years since that vision was replaced as the worst adaptation of the classic superhero team by this. Despite that setback, two of the movies’ stars, Chris Evans and Julian McMahon, have found their way back to the MCU. Evans of course is battling Nazis on and offscreen as Captain America these days, while the Nip/Tuck alum is heading to the small screen for Marvel’s Runaways.
As Variety reports, McMahon will play a character whose “origins and ultimate intentions are unknown.” Oh, well, that’s… not al that illuminating. But wait, there’s more: He’s also “a pivotal player in the main characters’ rebellion against their parents.” Okay, that doesn’t really clarify what side he’s on, or if he’s a villain or some kind of helpful mentor. But at least revisiting McMahon’s stint as a cinematic megalomaniac gave us a brief respite from covering a real-life one.
Marvel’s Runaways will assemble November 21 on Hulu.
