As the release date for Avengers: Age Of Ultron approaches, Disney has released a list of the cast members attending the red carpet, and a couple unexpected names turned up: Julie Delpy and Linda Cardellini, neither of whom have appeared in previous Marvel films. Disney has refused to comment on which roles the two women play in the film, other than to confirm that they both are indeed in it.
The lack of comment could mean nothing, or it could mean everything. Speculation is already circulating that one of these women could turn out to be Captain Marvel, and it would certainly be consistent with Marvel’s modus operandi to announce the Captain Marvel casting decision in an Avengers: Age Of Ultron cameo. But on the other hand, Disney spilling the beans by having Captain Marvel show up on the red carpet seems unlikely. In any case, Delpy and Cardellini—who currently stars on Bloodline—are two immensely talented actors who will stand out, no matter how small their Avengers parts may be.
