Just because you can't see the monsters doesn't mean they won't eat you in a Starfish exclusive clip

As they often do in periods of great political turmoil, post-apocalyptic movies are having a moment. But unlike the small bands of survivors in Bird Box and A Quiet Place, Aubrey (Virginia Gardner), the heroine of A.T. White’s feature directorial debut Starfish, is alone. Well, mostly—she has the cryptic mixtapes left behind by her best friend Grace (Christina Masterson), who died shortly before the cataclysmic event that wiped out much of the Earth’s population. (“THIS MIXTAPE WILL SAVE THE WORLD,” the label on the final and most important tape reads.)

She also has a mysterious male voice on her walkie-talkie who gives her instructions on how to survive an encounter with terrifying unseen alien creatures, as we can see in the exclusive clip from the film above. Compellingly acted, beautifully shot, and driven by an excellent indie-rock soundtrack (writer-director White is also the frontman of UK band Ghostlight), Starfish is a dreamy, cerebral sci-fi movie that’s being compared to Alex Garland’s Annihilation.
