FX’s Justified may have just ended its glorious six season run, but there are still odds and sods of leftover material (plus the inevitable DVD release) to dull the pain. Here, as part of Entertainment Weekly’s Scene Unseen, series creator Graham Yost describes an epic confrontation planned for season six’s “Alive Day” that didn’t quite make it out of the writer’s room. It’s got action, bloodshed, and Tim Gutterson being a badass, so it’s a damned shame it never made it to the screen, though it is a great example of a showrunner being willing to kill his proverbial darlings to better serve the needs of the longer story he’s trying to tell.
