Just in time to energize the youth vote if this story were being reported several weeks ago, actor Kal Penn has returned to working for the White House, after taking some time off to film the equally-vital-to-our-nation sequel A Very Harold And Kumar Christmas. Penn—who is also known by his birth name “Kalpen Modi” to absolutely no one, because he is always going to be known as “Kumar,” even to the people he works with on a daily basis doing big, important government things—is once again an Associate Director for the Office of Public Engagement. "I didn’t even know the public was dating," he said, being glib rather than looking up what that entails, exactly. Oh, apparently it “works collectively on conducting outreach to the American public and various organizations” and Penn will “be the point person for those in the Arts, Youth, and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities.” Well, so long as it’s not something vaguely defined.
