Kanye West confirms his new record will feature Daft Punk, Chief Keef, and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon
Kanye West’s new record, Yeezus, is due out in just a week, but precious little information about it is known, save for the tracks West has already debuted live (or had projected onto the sides of buildings). But last night, West held a listening session for the record at New York’s Milk where he talked the crowd through it. Amidst his usual rants about paparazzi and how he doesn’t care if he sells any records (Why, are leather pants and Lamborghinis free now?), West dropped a few choice morsels about what to expect. For instance, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and Chief Keef will appear together on the same track, “Can’t Handle My Liquor,” while Daft Punk apparently did production work on three or four songs. West also said that Rick Rubin executive-produced the record, and shouted out both Houston rapper/producer Travi$ Scott and UNO NYC producer Arca as contributors. Pitchfork also notes that one of the tracks West played combines TNGHT’s “R U Ready” with Billie Holiday’s “Strange Fruit,” so that should be interesting.
