Mere hours after canceling the remaining dates on his Saint Pablo tour, NBC News reports that rapper Kanye West is under observation at a Los Angeles-area hospital. According to the report, police responded to a medical welfare call from an undisclosed location at around 1:20 p.m. PT. No reason was given for the call and subsequent hospitalization, but police were willing to confirm that no criminal activity was involved and NBC says that “the decision to hospitalize West was for his own health and safety.”
The hospitalization comes after an eventful few days for the always-mercurial West, who has been performing increasingly abbreviated concerts and who made headlines last week when he told a crowd in San Jose that, “If I would have voted, I would have voted on Trump.” Statements from West’s management and/or family are presumably forthcoming.
