Kanye West releasing new label compilation, possibly experimenting with animal noises
While embarking on a breathlessly chronicled relationship with Kim Kardashian, Kanye West has been putting together his own record label. G.O.O.D. Music—Getting Out Our Dreams, for the uninformed—will release its first compilation, Cruel Summer August 7. At least, that’s what Clipse’s Pusha T, who’s on the label and the record, told Hot 97 last night. Frank Ocean, Jay Electronica, Big Sean and more guest on the album, which shares a name with the seven-screen film West debuted at Cannes earlier this year.
In slightly less reputable news, The Sun, one of Britain’s tabloids, is reporting that West has “become so obsessed with roars, barks and jungle noises that he’s experimenting with putting them on a recording.” Audiences would be wise to hold off on believing that monkey business until they actually hear it.
