Kanye West rolls out a new fashion line, a new track, and a Cruel Summer reunion
Kanye West and his fans had a very G.O.O.D. day yesterday. The embarrassment of riches began in the late afternoon in New York—and on 50 movie theater screens around the world—when West debuted his long-awaited fashion line with Adidas. Beyoncé was there, and so were Jay Z, Diddy, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and a very cranky North West.
Those hoping that the showcase might offer a platform for some new music weren’t disappointed either, as West debuted “Wolves,” the first track from his upcoming record. Produced by Cashmere Cat and Sinjin Hawke and featuring Vic Mensa and Sia, the new track is an Auto-Tuned exercise in sparseness that seems to share a great deal with West’s album 808s And Heartbreak.
After the show ended (and after every last one of the Yeezy Boost 750 shoes in stock sold in a single minute), West booked it over to the Flatiron District to headline the first annual Roc City Classic. The show, which streamed live on Jay Z’s Life + Times website, featured a number of pretty amazing guest stars, including Cruel Summer collaborators 2 Chainz, Pusha T, Big Sean, and Travi$ Scott as well a very un-VIP appearance from Drake.
