Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music announces September release date for Cruel Summer

G.O.O.D. Music, the loose confederation of artists signed to Kanye West’s record label of the same name, has announced that the group’s first collaborative album, Cruel Summer, will finally be released on September 4—just as summer cruelly comes to a close.

In April 2012, the hip-hop collective created anticipation for the album by releasing a first single, “Mercy,” featuring West alongside rappers Pusha T, 2 Chainz, and Big Sean. Earlier this month the group released a second single, “New God Flow”.

The Clipse’s Pusha T, who is expected to release a debut solo album on the label in 2013, had first announced an early August release date for the new record, but he appears to have been a month off in his calculations.

After Cruel Summer comes out, West will likely finish work on an imminent new solo album, likely to be released later this year.
