Kate Beckinsale joins Simon Pegg for that Monty Python almost-reunion movie
That sort-of Monty Python reunion will now include Kate Beckinsale. The Underworld star has signed on for Absolutely Anything, the upcoming Terry Jones directed film that will feature the voices of John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, and Michael Palin. As previously reported, the film stars Simon Pegg as a disillusioned school teacher who receives magical powers from a group of aliens voiced by the Python boys. Robin Williams is also on board to voice Pegg’s talking dog. Beckinsale, meanwhile, will play his love interest. According to Deadline, “Mishap after mishap finally leads [Pegg’s character] to an ultimate conundrum: Should he choose the girl (Beckinsale) or the dog?” And who says there are no good roles for women in film these days?
