Kate Bush strums a ukulele in space in the long-lost video for her "Rocketman" cover

Hot on the heels of the ecstatic first trailer for Elton John biopic Rocketman comes a music video for the iconic track that gave it its title. Not John’s version, mind you, but a cover from legendary singer and songwriter Kate Bush, one that topped the charts when it was released in 1991. Bush’s ukulele-led version was recorded for a John tribute album, Two Rooms, but will also be included on Bush’s upcoming The Other Sides, a compilation of rare tracks that arrives on March 8.

To accompany the release, Bush has also shared the music video for her cover. “This is the first time this video has officially been released,” Bush told NME, adding that the song is “one of my favorite tracks ever.”

Bush, who directed the blustery, black-and-white clip herself, used the video as a way to honor the song’s guitarist, Alan Murphy, who died before the clip was shot. “He was a truly special musician and a very dear friend,” she said. “Tragically, he died just before we made the video so he wasn’t able to be there with us but you’ll see his guitar was placed on an empty chair to show he was there in spirit.”

Watch it below.

The Other Sides is the final installment of Bush’s Remastered series, which, across 18 discs, provides a definitive physical chronicle of her vast oeuvre.
