Katherine Heigl and Rosario Dawson fail the Bechdel test in Unforgettable trailer
It’s pretty inspiring that in the wake of the most successful female presidential candidate in U.S. history, we can celebrate by going to see a film directed by a woman, co-written by a woman, produced by a couple women, and starring two women as two strong and complex female leads. If only it were not about two beautiful women fighting over the love of a good and mildly attractive man, it would be perfect!
Directed by first-time director but long-time producer Denise Di Novi (Focus)—from a script by 2013 Black List honoree Christina Hodson (Shut In) and David Leslie Johnson (The Conjuring 2)—Unforgettable stars Katherine Heigl as an emotionally disturbed divorcee who devotes her newfound free time to stalking and psychologically torturing her ex’s (Geoff Stults) new wife, played by Rosario Dawson. There’s a lot of talent involved, so it could wind up being a solid, fun thriller in the mold of Fatal Attraction and The Hand That Rocks The Cradle.
Unforgettable will slip quietly into theaters in order to torment audiences on April 21.
