Katie Holmes and Al Pacino join Adam Sandler's "Adam Sandler in a funny wig" comedy

The increasingly lengthier leash afforded to Katie Holmes has allowed her to sign up for Columbia’s Jack And Jill, a forthcoming comedy in which Holmes will play wife to Adam Sandler. Here’s the description from The Hollywood Reporter:

In the film, Jack, a family man, deals with his twin sister, Jill, when she visits for Thanksgiving then won't leave. Sandler will play both characters. Holmes would play Sandler's wife; [Al] Pacino is set to play himself.

So not only does Jack And Jill feature Sandler in drag doing his “Gap Girls” voice, it also has Katie Holmes trying on some broad comedy and Al Pacino playing one of those winking self-satirical versions of his public persona—and it’s directed by Dennis Dugan, the guy behind The Benchwarmers, I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry, and most recently Grown-Ups? True, this sounds less like an actual project and more like one of those fake movies-within-the-movie of Funny People that the only slightly fictionalized Adam Sandler watches on DVD as he morosely considers the legacy of cheap cash-ins he’s leaving behind. But hey, on the bright side, we’re not all dead.
