In what we can only assume is the next step in her ongoing, multi-year effort to destroy Taylor Swift, Katy Perry has been announced as the next host of MTV’s Video Music Awards. Perry—who’s nominated for five awards this year, including Best Pop, Best Art Direction, and Best Collaboration—will take the stage on August 27, when MTV will broadcast the award ceremony live.
Perry will also perform at the show, with the ceremony kicking off shortly before she embarks on her latest world tour, in support of her new album, Witness. Meanwhile, voting is still open for the awards; you can see the full ballot right here.
