Kazakhstan is still hung up on Borat, planning new film as a response

In an effort to prove that Kazakhstan is not as culturally behind the times as Borat made it out to be, Kazakh director Erkin Rakishev is developing My Brother, Borat as a comeback to Sacha Baron Cohen’s four-year-old joke, intending to “ride on the wave of success of Borat” to show people that Kazakhstan is not, in fact, a country where the mechanics pull double duty as abortionists, the children delight in the annual running of the Jews, and the people shit in plastic bags. This new film will feature an American fan of Sacha Baron Cohen’s mockumentary traveling to Kazakhstan to find “a prosperous and modern state.” It will be boring.
