Ken Marino will be Casey Wilson’s fiancé in new comedy from Happy Endings creator
Happy Endings creator David Caspe’s new NBC pilot Marry Me has cast its couple whose engagement is at the center of the show. Ken Marino—previously seen in a small guest role in Happy Endings’ second season—will play the male lead. Caspe’s real-life fiancée Casey Wilson took the female lead last week.
It's just one of several projects Wilson has going, along with her other NBC pilot Mason Twins with writing partner June Diane Raphael, their ABC pilot DINKS (Double Income, No Kids), and a movie in development with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions. Seeing as Marry Me seems loosely autobiographical—concerning a couple navigating the long road from engagement, presumably inspired by the relationship between its showrunner and star—if it finds Wilson's character frustrating Marino with her always being too busy to focus on their relationship, it'll be clear where that material's coming from.
