Kevin Bacon’s summer vacation includes Johnny Depp’s Whitey Bulger movie, two others
Kevin Bacon has some time off from the brutal, cynical murders of The Following, and he’s going to use it to focus on what’s truly important in life: Kevin Bacon. He’s going to put on some comfy slippers, he’s gonna grab a refreshing beverage, and he’s not gonna wear any pants. This is The Summer Of Bacon, and he’s just gonna do a combination of chilling and relaxing that he calls “chillaxing.”
Well, at least when he’s not filming one of the three movies he’s acting in this summer. Yes, as reported by Deadline, Kevin Bacon is going on vacation and he’s still going to be in three movies, which should hopefully make everyone who has never even been in one movie feel like a real asshole. First up on Bacon’s agenda is 6 Miranda Drive, a “microbudget thriller” about a man who returns from a family trip to the Grand Canyon with some sort of fear-powered ghost. That’s one way to ruin your vacation, Kevin! Luckily, it’s just a movie.
Next up—maybe after a trip to the beach for some sand castles and swimming—is Black Mass, the Whitey Bulger movie that’s inexplicably starring Johnny Depp and Benedict Cumberbatch as the Boston-born Bulger brothers. The movie also features Joel Edgerton, Dakota Johnson, Juno Temple, Jesse Plemons, and Adam Scott, so Kevin Bacon might as well join up too. He’ll be playing Charles McGuire, the FBI’s top agent in Boston. We understand that Boston is known for its several unique local foods and sports teams, so we suggest Kevin takes some time and learns what those are while he’s in town. That’ll be fun!
Finally, Kevin Bacon will wrap up his summer in Colorado, where he’s filming Cop Car, a movie dedicated to the classic summertime fun of joyriding in a stolen police vehicle. Bacon plays Sheriff Shannon, a corrupt officer who has to hunt down—and possibly murder—a pair of kids who steal his car. Unbeknownst to them, he left an important dead body in the trunk and he wants it back. Always be careful when you pack, Kevin. Don’t take too much, but also don’t forget where you left that dead body!
We just hope Kevin Bacon doesn’t forget the most important rule of a relaxing vacation: Don’t think about work!
