Kevin Bacon tries to murder children in this trailer for Cop Car

Sometimes, children can be a bit of a nuisance. They break your collectible action figures, they get chocolate everywhere, and they can’t help but steal unlocked police cars that are suspiciously parked in the middle of nowhere. It’s that last point in particular that concerns Kevin Bacon’s character in director Jon Watts’ film Cop Car. As seen in this trailer, two little rascals (James Freedson-Jackson and Hays Wellford) are out having a classic childhood adventure when they stumble upon a seemingly abandoned police car. As the kids have some harmless fun driving around, a corrupt sheriff (Bacon) realizes that his car—which has something sinister stashed in the trunk—has been stolen. He then proceeds to terrorize the children, because sometimes you’ve just gotta put the fear of Bacon into them if you want kids to behave. Cop Car will be in theaters on August 7, and it’ll hit on-demand services a week after that.
