Kevin James to inspire audiences by still getting to star in movies

Proving that America is a land of second, third, and, apparently infinite chances, human Blart Kevin James is planning to star in a new film. Tapping into that same “we’ll try anything” spirit that leads Hollywood to take yet another wager on a man with Pixels slowly rotting on his resume, James is in talks to star in the inspirational movie 44, about a middle-aged father of four who attempts to join a college football team.

Based on a true story, the film actually sounds a lot like Here Comes The Boom, another movie that played on the fact that Kevin James is Kevin James, and yet sometimes still plays characters who would like to do a sport. (In James’ defense, we barely remember Here Comes The Boom, too.) The movie is being produced by Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment, the studio that produced 2009 Oscar-winner The Blind Side, because apparently America has an unquenchable thirst for flicks about improbable college athletes.

James’ last film role was as a monster in his frequent accomplice Adam Sandler’s Hotel Transylvania 2. He’s also planning a new CBS sitcom, still untitled, which is expected to air some time this year.
